Decibel

Decibel is a nod to 19th century British slabs, designed while listening exclusively to American funk music from the 60s and 70s. Decibel Display turns the volume up to eleven and Decibel Text quiets down for extended reading at smaller sizes.

Ethan Cohen

Ethan is a type designer and calligrapher from New York City. Before moving to Europe, he studied in the Type@Cooper Extended Program, worked at Mucca Design, taught calligraphy and music, and was the Director of Business & Legal Affairs at a record label. Ethan currently works at LucasFonts in Berlin and is available for letter-related projects.

Type and Media is a master’s course in typeface design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). During the first semester, the students have several ongoing modules with concurrent projects, interspersed with a diverse set of workshops. During the second semester, each student focuses on a single project. This site showcases the final projects of the class of 2019. Enjoy!
